How long, O Lord, will we tolerate the idea that some people are more valuable, while others are less valuable?
How long, O Lord, must we lift up those who do violence in our name as our heroes rather than our victims?
How long, O Lord, will we blame victims of violence for becoming perpetrators instead of living out the redemptive and transforming hope of Christ in their midst?
How long, O Lord, will we misrepresent your love to our children as punitive rather than merciful?
How long, O Lord, must we yield our pulpits to words of hate over words of life?
Give us, Your prophets, the wisdom and courage to speak Your Truth, Your Love, Your Peace, Your Justice and Your Mercy for the healing of our brokenness. Amen.
